Purple Chicken team members hand over cake stall funds to Jindera RFS, West Wodonga CFA and Kangaloola Wildlife Shelter

The community has flocked to support an enterprise that empowers young people with disabilities to find work in hospitality.
Now the Purple Chicken participants have returned the favour, cooking up a storm to raise $1200 to support local fire services and the Kangaloola Wildlife Shelter.
Purple Chicken founder Jen Tait said her team believed in contributing to their community and decided to hold a cake stall on February 23 from their base at City Central Church, Albury.
"The young people spent a few weeks baking and preparing a variety of cakes, slices, biscuits, bliss balls, and dog treats," Ms Tait said.
The public response on the day was "brilliant" with the 100 boxes and bags of items sold out in just 40 minutes, she added.
"The young people packed the products into cake boxes, added content stickers, Purple Chicken logos, and marked the prices on the boxes," Ms Tait said.
"They then practised their customer service skills and also had the opportunity to practise money handling skills - it was a terrific experience for the young adults of Purple Chicken."

On Wednesday, some of the flock handed over $400 from their baking bonanza to the West Wodonga Country Fire Authority with another $400 to go to the Jindera Rural Fire Service and $400 to Kangaloola to help the shelter look after animals affected by the fires.
Ms Tait said the young people were thrilled with the financial outcome of their efforts and encouraged by the ongoing support from the community and City Central Church members.
