Matt Eastman has returned home to Sydney for family reasons and will play with Sydney University in the NEAFL.
When his signing was announced last November, the Tigers said the half-forward made contact while he was visiting the area and was impressed by the picturesque Albury Sportsground.
The club also admitted it didn't place a great expectation on Eastman as he had played only 12 matches for East Coast Eagles in the Sydney Premier division last year.
He played 15 reserve grade matches the previous season with West Adelaide.
ALSO IN SPORT:
Eastman came through the GWS Academy and made the State squad in 2013, alongside AFL players Jeremy Finlayson (GWS) and Dougal Howard (ex-Port Adelaide, now St Kilda), while Albury's Keiran Ellis was another member.
Albury will kick-start the season at home against Wodonga Raiders on March 28.
