Recruit manager Brendan Sheather said Schulz has recently returned home and was keen to reignite his playing career after missing last season with a knee injury.
"Ben moved back home just before Christmas and is keen to make a comeback after undergoing a knee reconstruction," Sheather said.
"The last few years he has been assistant coach for some club down near Mildura.
"We think he could be handy running off a back-flank if he can get himself right.
"Ben and Mitch have also both committed and will add to our big man stocks.
"Ben will probably slot in as a key back while Mitch is a fairly versatile tall."
