Woolworths has reassured customers they are making deliveries to Albury-Wodonga stores every day but coronavirus panic-buyers continue to clear the shelves quicker than they can restock them.
A Woolworths spokesperson said they are continuing to work closely with suppliers to get products out as soon as they can.
"The makers of Kleenex, Sorbent, Quilton and Woolworths' own range are continuing to produce extra stock in Australian facilities to meet the demand," they said.
"As a result, large volumes of toilet paper supply are flowing through to our stores each day. We encourage customers to continue purchasing only what they require.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"The vast majority of the products in our range remain available for our customers as normal.
"We apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused by temporary stock shortages and thank them for their patience."
At 1pm on Monday, there were no rolls of toilet paper available at the Wodonga Woolworths store.
Coles didn't respond to questions put to them by The Border Mail about supply to local stores but said in a statement last week they reduced their limit per customer after "unprecedented demand for toilet rolls".
"Unfortunately many stores are still selling out within an hour of delivery," the statement said.
"We have therefore made the decision to change the limit to one pack per customer so that toilet rolls are available for more of our customers, particularly the elderly and people who are unable to purchase in large volumes."
Woolworths has a limit of two per customer.
