McKeown proved to be a reliable defender for the Hoppers in his one season stint at Bunton Park.
The son of former Collingwood and Corowa-Rutherglen player Ron, McKeown played six VFL games with the Pies and had been a regular in the NFL Team of the Year before joining the Hoppers.
Meanwhile North Albury will travel to Tatura today for its second pre-season hit-out of the season.
The Hoppers played Wodonga Raiders at Sandy Creek a fortnight ago.
Hoppers coach Isaac Muller said several players wouldn't make the trek to Tatura with cricket commitments and injuries.
"We will be a bit underdone," Muller said.
"There is a few unavailabilities and some of the boys have still got cricket finals," he said.
"Clay Moscher-Thomas is nursing some bruised ribs so he will be having a rest as well.
"I think Tatura will have a few missing as well but we are still looking forward to a good hit-out."
