The story looks at the impact of deforestation due to palm oil production and was sparked by a visit to the zoo where he saw a campaign calling for better labelling.
"What the Melbourne Zoo is trying to have happen is that governments legislate so that all items in a supermarket are properly labelled to show they contain certified sustainable palm oil and it's okay to buy if it does have that," Mr Klein said.
A launch for the book will be held at MAMA in Albury from 5.30pm on Wednesday.
It will feature original artworks by Mr de Montignie.
"I could have a conversation with him about something and he could recreate it in drawing almost as though he was reading my mind," Mr Klein said.
"I think his artwork is extraordinary."
