Albury-Wodonga Football Association competitions will be put on hold for a month after Football Federation Australia came to the decision to suspended all sanctioned grassroots football and associated training due to the worldwide coronavirus outbreak.

AWFA was initially set to adopt protective measures put in place from FFA on Monday, including only essential participants (players, coaches, officials and key volunteers) attending matches and recommendations for junior participants to be accompanied by only one parent or guardian.
FFA announced yesterday it would reassess its decision made on Monday and had been in constant communication with its community and received a variety of feedback from grassroots level, including competition administrators, and across the game more broadly.

A call was made to suspend activity for the next four weeks late on Tuesday afternoon.
"We're governed by our state and national body and we'll follow the guidelines for the safety of our members," AWFA president Mark Leman said.
"AWFA will be meeting with all presidents of the clubs to discuss the competition going forward and what we can do to make up the rounds.
