The Albury-Wodonga Bandits will not compete this year after the NBL1 announced the cancellation of the season on Tuesday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
All three conferences, South, North and Central, were told the competition would no longer be going ahead for 2020.
The league had originally proposed to postpone the season until May, however the closure of indoor sports centres under new COVID-19 guidelines led to the decision to pull the pin.
It would have been the Border outfits second season in the new league, with several import players landing on the Border ahead of the competition.

"Obviously this is unfortunate, but it's the most appropriate decision under the current circumstances," NBL chief operating officer Andy Crook said.
"The health and safety of players, staff and officials, as well as the wider community comes first."
The season was first scheduled to start next month.
