Wangaratta Rovers Female Football club has banded together for a fitness challenge that's set to see them travel around Australia, but not in the way you think.
The under-14, under-17 and open teams are adding their individual kilometers together to see them run around the country, with the group's latest tally count seeing them at 569km, arriving in Campbelltown, NSW.
What started as a small challenge to reach 50km together quickly snowballed as the team reached 200km, then 500km, in an effort to keep motivated and in virtual contact during this testing time.
Under-17's coach Kylie Barton was one of the brains behind the initiative and said it's allowed the club to keep an element of social contact in place, while unable to meet as a team.
"It's encouraging everyone to stay motivated and fit in a way that's still team based, even though we're very independent and mindful of all of the requirements not to be together," Barton said.
"It's become that social aspect of what football and training was to us.
"It's putting people's minds in a different space and motivating people for a bigger cause, like community sport does.
"As we got further and further along the kilometres just kept coming in.

"People were kayaking and riding their bikes and horses and logging their kilometres."
Along the way the Rovers are recognising other football clubs on their journey, tagging clubs on their Instragram page as they pass them.
The club has now reached rugby league territory, keeping in mind all of the sports clubs around the country currently at a standstill.
"We're acknowledging that there are so many community sports teams, in our case women's, in Australia," Barton said.
"It's nice to go along and acknowledge that those teams are there and exist.
"Hopefully what we're doing gives people a little pep up and they can do the same, or it might stimulate them to do something similar."
The Rovers aren't limiting the challenge to reach over 14,000km to just themselves, putting the call out for other clubs to join them as they pass.
A team from Diamond Creek are already on board, set to add their kilometres to the tally.
"We'd love to get others on board to help with the kilometres as well," Barton said.
"Anyone who wants to get on board can send us a message to our Instagram page."
