League president Rex Gray will meet with AFLNEB on Monday before options are discussed at a delegates meeting later in the week.
"If we want clubs to start halfway through the year, you want to make it worthwhile," Gray said.
"The community would love to see games and we will look at all options."
A later finish to the TDFL season could see a clash with the cricket season.
The TDFL and Hume league seasons were scheduled to start on Saturday.
"We were supposed to be presenting premiership flags on Saturday," Gray said.
"It was a strange feeling."
