Some of the biggest group one races on the national racing calendar have been cut by 50 per cent.
Saturday's $3m Doncaster Mile, $2.5m TJ Smith, $2m the Australian Derby and $1m Inglis Sires Produce have all been chopped in half.

The lucrative Country Championship final has been reduced 20 per cent and will be now worth $400,000.
Scott and Mitch Beer will represent the SDRA in the final with Bennelong Dancer and Sky Call.
"My main concern is that we are still racing and not about a prizemoney cut," Scott said.
"I don't think anyone in the industry would begrudge the decision.
"If that's what it takes it's fair enough because Racing NSW is losing turnover with the pubs and clubs being shut."
