Officers, equipped with additional protective equipment, have caught multiple drivers above the alcohol limit in recent days, and one suspected drug driver with several ounces of cannabis and other drugs in his car.
Albury Highway Patrol Sergeant Steve Schausinger said the man with drugs was pulled over in Springdale Heights on Saturday night.
He did not test positive to alcohol but appeared to be drug affected.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He was taken to Albury hospital for tests and a search of his car found 272 grams of marijuana, liquid and solid substances thought to be drugs, and cash.
The Thurgoona man, 24, was charged with drug supply and was bailed to Albury Local Court on May 11.
An 18-year-old drink driver was also caught in Eastern Circuit on Monday morning, and was banned from driving for three months.
A 27-year-old man also lost his licence last Friday night after swerving his car on Union Road near Wright Street.
He appeared drunk and returned a reading of 0.108.
"People need to be mindful that police are still out there patrolling and making sure people are driving safely, even though the volume of traffic has significantly reduced," Sergeant Schausinger said.
"We are taking extra precautions with the use of personal protective equipment like gloves and sanitiser.
"People may be questioned about their movements, if they've recently been overseas or been exposed to the virus, but we still test them."
