Corryong College will be the major beneficiary of a $2.2 million cash splash for schools in Towong Shire following the summer bushfires.

The senior and junior campuses of the school have been consolidated on the one site this year with the former junior campus being used for a dedicated team to help Upper Murray communities recover from the bushfires.
Bethanga and Tallangatta primary schools are also receiving funding, but Corryong College is the recipient of $1.2 million for new sensory play equipment, shade sails, landscaping and a new synthetic finish on the senior outdoor basketball court.
Its gymnasium will also be upgraded with new toilet and shower blocks and air conditioning.
"Upgrading these schools is part of our ongoing work to help fire-affected communities rebuild and return to normal with a great school for local kids to learn and grow," Victorian Education Minister James Merlino said.
Tallangatta Primary School will have its outdoor sports courts resurfaced, along with upgrades to its pathways, flooring and stairwells and site drainage through a $883,000 boost.

Bethanga Primary School will also receive more than $125,000 to resurface its outdoor sports court, along with upgrades their grandstand and stairs.
Member for Benambra Bill Tilley congratulated the government on delivering on its promises to upgrade Corryong College.
"This is great news for Corryong and something that we've been lobbying for in the wake of the bushfires," he said.
"Not long after the fires I was consulted as to the priorities for the region.
"The need to finish work at Corryong College was one of the highest priorities.
"Back in February the minister promised to look into this and other schools in the Towong Shire and he has been good to his word.
"I know the community itself has been through some challenging times and perhaps this is a change of fortune that is much needed and certainly long overdue."
Northern Victorian Upper House MP and Regional Development Minister Jaclyn Symes said: "These bushfires have devastated many communities across Towong and we're doing everything we can to support our students and staff."
The $2.2 million Corryong College redevelopment was originally announced in the 2017 Victorian budget.
Bushfire recovery team members are still in place despite the COVID-19 crisis and where safe to do so with distancing in place, essential work on the ground is continuing such as the Grocon clean-up and removal of hazardous trees.
