The simple, but powerful idea started as a creative shot during a maternity session with photographer Meg Gibbs prior to the isolation restrictions.

"Having been isolated for a few weeks, I kept looking back on that one photo and the concept of documenting mothers in isolation through their windows came to life," Miss Gibbs said.

"I wanted to turn a particularly glum situation into something that could be remembered in a positive light.

"Taking time to step out of your day and simply love your children is quite powerful, a simple reminder of how truly lucky you are."

Miss Gibbs said the photographs will be featured in a solo exhibition once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted but the sessions are just as much about documenting a moment in time.

"The sole purpose of these sessions is to reinforce the tenderness of life," she said.

"All while capturing the beauty, love and strength of a mother and her little ones in a time of loneliness, isolation and chaos. We are living through a global pandemic, which we may never see in our lifetimes again.

"If I can document this in a way that is truly beautiful for the mothers and their children, in 10 years from now when this is a distant memory, they can reflect on a beautiful portrait set of the important things like how much they are loved.

For the business owner, who started five years ago, wedding season takes up six months of her year.

"I spend September through to April shooting weddings most Saturdays.

"But I also love shooting family portraits at sunset and motherhood sessions particularly in homes in a documentary style," Miss Gibbs said.

"The COVID-19 restrictions has been a difficult one, with the loss of two potentially three months worth of work.

"Its given me a lot more time to edit the sessions I still have from my wedding season.

"I'm spending more time focusing on growth and learning new things to implement in my sessions.

"Although now that I have found a niche in the window sessions, my creativity is blossoming and my business can only benefit from that."

For Miss Gibbs the new sessions are helping her get out of the "isolation rut".

"For me personally being able to document this is exactly the creative push I needed," she said.
