Tallangatta Secondary College couldn't hold its usual open evening for 2021 year 7 students owing to COVID-19 restrictions but did not want to postpone the function entirely.
"We were looking at the calendar and we thought what's happening at the moment isn't ideal, but there's definitely a way to work around it," year 7 engagement leader Mckye Turner said.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Each evening the school will post a different reflection or address, starting on Monday. April 27, from a year 7 student and peer support leader, to be followed by speeches by the school captains (Tuesday, April 28), a parent (Wednesday, April 29), the principal (Thursday, April 30) and the year 7 engagement leader (Friday, May 1).
"It will stay up on Facebook to be accessed as often as people want," Mr Turner said.
He hoped those watching would like, share and comment on the posts as well as ask any questions.
"Our open evenings, as much as the information we give out, the questions are always the most important part and we wanted to keep that as a really strong part of our open evening process," he said.
Tallangatta Secondary College plans to offer tours and other information sessions later this year.
