Following a board meeting on Thursday night, HAW president Bert Eastoe revealed the association will adopt a 'watch and wait approach' as it requires clearance from Hockey Victoria and Hockey ACT (for the Albury-Wodonga Spitfires) to return to training and playing.

"Hockey Victoria is working through their competitions scenarios of 10 and 12 weeks and they are, as we are, finding this difficult to firm up as the support of players and clubs for a short season, prior to summer sports is unknown," Eastoe said.
"We will be monitoring this and surveying our members next month.
"Hockey Victoria are investigating double headers, mid-week games and even a later end to the season in say October which has implications for summer sport participants."
