A Wagga man in his sixties returned a test result with a 'low positive', and is currently being treated in Wagga Base Hospital.
The Murrumbidgee Local Health District reported the man will undergo further testing to determine the severity of his diagnosis.
It is unknown at this stage how the man contracted the virus but public health will be doing contact tracing.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases for the region to 46, with 39 recovered cases. Associate professor Tara McKenzie, a respiratory physician in charge of the COVID-19 ward of the hospital, said there were also a number of patients being monitored to protect them from the virus.
"I currently have about 15 patients in hospital at the moment, not with COVID, but under the COVID-precautions," she said.
"To keep our community safe we actually assume someone is positive once they're swabbed, until it's proven they're negative, while of course treating their other illnesses that they happen to have."
The MLHD is urging the community to remain vigilant with good hygiene practices and social distancing measures as symptoms can take anywhere between three and 14 days to present.
MLHD executives last week announced a widening of COVID-19 testing parameters and anyone with flu-like symptoms is being encouraged to get tested.
There have been 3481 coronavirus tests conducted in the MLHD to date.
The Murrumbidgee COVID-19 Hotline, 1800 831 099, is available between 7am and 9pm everyday for a confidential over-the-phone assessment.
