When Lisa Jane Quale's case went before Albury Local Court on Monday, one charge plainly suggested a reasonably serious crime.
The 41-year-old Lavington woman, who did not attend court, was on a substantive, strictly indictable count of break, enter and steal to a value of no greater than $60,000.

Her defence previously had showed its displeasure, having asked for a review.
Magistrate Richard Funston was told a final decision had not yet been made by police.
That was likely within a couple of weeks, so the case was adjourned to June 10.
It was expected though, prosecutor Sergeant Andrew Pike said, that the representations would be successful.
Quale burgled room 16 of the Albury City Motel in the early hours of March 24.
But all she pinched, Sergeant Pike said, was a bikkie.
Well, "half a biscuit".
