While it's too early to say the season will definitely go ahead - much will depend, at least in the short term, on whether Victoria lifts the state of emergency on Monday - AFL North East Border will meet with leagues and clubs, including the O and M on Thursday, via Zoom conferences.
"The meetings are to update clubs on what a return to play for community football looks like in the planning phase and will be subject to COVID-19 restrictions," region general manager John O'Donohue said.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"The AIS has put out guidelines for the return of community sport which football is preparing to align with however, ultimately, whatever restrictions are in place by governments will determine what is and isn't possible.
"In the coming days, we would expect to have information on which informed decisions can be made."
