The cell brought down metal sheets from a Olive Street building near the intersection with Dean Street about 12:30pm.
A tree was also uprooted outside the WAW building on Dean Street, damaging a vehicle.
NSW State Emergency Service and police responded to the incidents and emergency services were called to multiple locations around the Border and North East.
The temporary Ambulance Victoria cleaning station at Albury hospital also blew over in the storm.
An Albury Wodonga Health spokeswoman said the structure had nothing to do with COVID-19 testing but had been erected as part of the coronavirus preparations.
The station had been in limited use only and no one was in it when it collapsed.
"Unfortunately it's just a bit more exposed than the one that's in front of the ED at the moment, which has had no damage," the spokeswoman said.
At West Albury's Boonie Doon Park, a large tree was uprooted by the wind and fell across a footpath.
The Bureau of Meteorology had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for damaging winds.
Albury Airport recorded an 89 km/h wind gust with a storm at 12:43pm while nearly two millimetres of rain fell within 10 minutes.
