A planning application for works including refurbishment and extensions of its existing building has been submitted with Wodonga Council.
The main components of the proposed works are the creation of an additional 370 square metres to its showroom at ground level and a further 940 square metres created in a newly established level one to be used for office and administration purposes.
There will also be a covered area constructed on the northern side of the existing workshop building facing Melbourne Road to enclose the drop-off and parking area for service vehicles.
The proposed extension and refurbishment of the building will not lead to an increase in staff members working from the site.
But a car parking demand assessment needed to be carried out in part to examine the impact on the local road network.
Spotto Consulting was engaged by Jacob Toyota and concluded there would be no "anticipated change" in either the supply of parking either on-street or off-street.
"Service vehicles will be able to be managed more efficiently in the covered area adjacent to the workshop building which will not see an increase in the number of service bays," the consultants report stated.
"The vehicles currently on display in front of the Jacob Toyota building will not change in number.
"They will be merely housed inside a building.
"New car deliveries (sales) will not change in number, but will be able to be managed from within the building.
"Existing on-street parking demand in the areas to the north and south of the site is generally low with the exception of the Melbourne Road service road immediately adjacent to the site where demands are relatively high and parking is proactively managed as much as possible by the Jacob Group.
"The observed parking demand of 344 vehicles generated by the existing site is approximately 9 per cent below the 267 parking spaces required under the Wodonga planning scheme."
