The assault came moments after the other man charged over the incident punched the victim to the mouth.
Albury Local Court has heard how Sinclair, 32, told him he had been sent to his house by one of the victim's friends.
Defence lawyer Mark Cronin said Sinclair was pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.
He was committed for sentence before the District Court in Albury on June 19. A related charge of stalking or intimidation will also travel to the District Court.
Two other charges were withdrawn by Director of Public Prosecutions representative Jessica Dawson.
Magistrate Richard Funston ordered the preparation of a sentence assessment report for Sinclair, who appeared on bail wearing black shorts and a black hooded jumper with white socks and slides.
In a set of agreed facts provided by Ms Dawson, the court was told the incident that led to Sinclair being charged took place on October 19, 2018.
The victim was inside his home in Eastern Circuit with two friends about 8.30pm when he heard a knock at the front door.
He opened the door to see Sinclair and the other man.
After Sinclair said he had been sent there by one of the victim's friends, the screen door was unlocked and the pair were invited into the house.
"The (co-accused) walked up behind the accused, towards the victim, and punched the victim from over the accused's shoulder, in the mouth and nose, causing the victim immediate pain. It caused his nose to bleed profusely."
Sinclair then came over and grabbed the victim's throat.
The co-accused told the victim to sit in a lounge chair, then he and Sinclair spoke to the two women in the house.
"OK, you get our point," the co-accused told the victim.
"We're going now."
