Murray River Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old schoolgirl was followed by a stranger in Deniliquin.

Murray River Police said the girl was walking to school along Napier Street on Tuesday at about 8am, when she was approached by an unknown man.
The girl told police the man followed her and called out to her.
She called her sister and notified staff at the school.

Police said the man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 40s, with grey stubble and a thin build.
He was wearing a black T-short, blue pants and a beanie.
Police said the man was last seen at a car wash at the intersection of Harfleur and Napier Street, Deniliquin.
Police are appealing for public assistance and urge anyone with information or any motorists who may have dashcam vision to contact Deniliquin Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
