Between hair gigs the professional Jindera stylist and amateur artist has done many works at Albury schools in recent years, but her biggest mural has taken shape in recent weeks.

A 30-metre wide section of Albury North Public School's hall has become a canvas for Mrs Richardson.

She has painted a Murray River scene between giant letters spelling Albury and North that are decorated with school items such as balls, a laptop and books.

The mural is visible to passing traffic in Mate Street and illuminated at night.

Principal Paul Smith and instructional leader Nicole Smith, who has helped guide Mrs Richardson, said the mural allowed the school to show itself off to the wider community, given its prominent site.

Mrs Richardson was drawn into painting when her children were at the school in 2007 and has since done murals at Hume and Glenroy public schools.

"I don't consider myself an artist, so anything that comes up 'I go wow'," she said.

The mural has involved more than 35 hours of work over three weeks and will be complete next week, in time for students returning full time after coronavirus limits.

"I'm not a patient painter, everything is done as fast I can do it," Mrs Richardson added.
