Chiltern Bakery and Cafe owner Carol Ziebarth said one morning this month they found an envelope under the door of the Conness Street shop.
"Someone had put $50 in an envelope and said treat some people, so we gave out some coffees and cakes, it was really nice," she said.
Mrs Ziebarth did not know who was behind the kind action.
"I actually have no idea," she said.

Ironbark Bistro and Tavern, also in Conness Street, found $100 in an envelope earlier this month with an unsigned message to shout a couple of mums a meal on Mother's Day.
"No name to receive thanks, just a beautiful gesture," the tavern told customers on its Facebook page.
"We sent out some free roast meals and desserts to some lovely ladies of Chiltern and they were all very appreciative of such a lovely thought.
"Thank you to whoever made this gift.
"We are all lucky to live in a town amongst such lovely people."
