North Albury's James Fallon High School and The Scots School Albury make up one quarter of the eight contenders for Regional School of The Year, with other nominees including schools in Townsville and Kangaroo Island.
The Scots School Albury is also a finalist in Boarding School of the Year while its head of junior school, Matthew Boundy, is in the running for Primary School Principal of the Year - Non-government.
Bandiana Primary School principal Donna Wright is one of nine nominations for Primary School Principal of the Year - Government.
The annual awards aim to celebrate the achievements of the country's top performing schools, principals, department heads and teachers.
Finalists in 23 categories were announced on Monday and the winners are due to be revealed at a gala presentation on November 6.
