Charges against a Benalla timber mill where 24-year-old worker Rasta Kemp died in 2018 are being brought before court.
It's believed Mr Kemp became entangled in a conveyor belt at D&R Henderson, killing him at the scene.
Victorian Workcover Authority has charged D&R Henderson with four offences relating to the alleged failure to provide and maintain a safe work environment on May 30, 2018, the date the incident occurred.
It is alleged the company failed to maintain a safe plant, safe systems of work, provide instructions to employees that were necessary to them to perform work in a safe manner, or provide appropriate supervision to maintain safety.
MORE NEWS FROM COURT:
The case was listed before Wangaratta Magistrates Court on Thursday, but there was no appearance by D&R Henderson and the case was adjourned until September with consent from the prosecution.
If the company is committed, the charges will eventually be heard in the County Court.
