At one point, James Glew grabbed her by the hair, put his other arm around her throat and pushed her back inside the house.
The woman desperately tried to squeeze past Glew inside the house while holding her 12-month-old child.

But again he blocked her path as he hurled foul abuse at the victim, who eventually escaped only after Glew somehow hit his head on the ground and momentarily blacked out.
Magistrate Richard Funston has jailed Glew for two years, setting a non-parole period of 14 months.
Glew, 31, of Waratah Crescent, previously pleaded guilty to domestic violence-related charges of common assault, contravene an apprehended violence order and attempt to stalk or intimidate.
The victim, police said, had an AVO against Glew granted to her in Albury Local Court on March 10.
Just over a month later, the order had been breached by Glew when the victim was at home with him on April 16.
The court was told the victim was on the front porch with her son about 7pm waiting for Glew's mother to arrive for a visit.
Glew and the victim had been arguing so she did not want to go back inside "as she was concerned the accused would not let her back outside".
He then urged her to return inside the home.
But the victim refused several times to do so, as she was too frightened of Glew - again, because she was worried she wouldn't be able to leave.
This was when Glew approached her and grabbed her by the hair and around the throat.
She screamed for Glew to let her go, but was unable to fight back as she was holding her infant son.
Once inside, police said the victim asked to be let out of the house as she did not want to be with him.
"The accused refused to let the victim leave and blocked the driveway."
She still had her son in her arms so was resigned to not being able to fit past Glew.
"The victim continued to ask the accused if she could leave, however the accused just abused the victim, calling her a dumb bitch and blocking her exit," police said.
Next she tried to get away through the backyard, but Glew again grabbed her by the hair and around the throat and pushed her back inside.
"Once the accused was back inside with the victim, (he) pushed the victim back onto the bed and he punched her to the head."
