Police are running Operation Stay Alert during the long weekend in a bid to reduce road trauma.
Albury Acting Sergeant Nick Fahy said four drink drivers and two drug drivers had been caught by Monday morning.
One woman who returned a positive drug test at the weekend was already disqualified and in an unregistered car.
"It's certainly disappointing," he said of the positive tests.
"One drink or drug driving offence is one too many.
"Police would stress that now stationary breath testing is being conducted again, drivers will be detected if they drink and drive.
"They will be put before the courts."

Acting Sergeant Fahy said one driver was caught at 44km/h over the limit about 7pm on Saturday.
"That was on the Hume Highway at Kyeamba, just north of Holbrook," he said.
"A 40-year-old female driver was detected at 154km/h."
A probationary driver was also caught at 130km/h in the same area despite having a reduced speed restriction.
"The P1 probation driver was detected on the Hume Highway at Kyeamba at 8pm on Sunday,"Acting Sergeant Fahy said.
"The 19-year-old male was the holder of a NSW P1 provisional drivers licence with a 90km/h limit.
"His licence was suspended on the spot."
Police had issued 90 infringement notices.
Acting Sergeant Fahy said there had been more vehicles on the road after coronavirus restrictions were eased.
"Police have noticed there has been an increase in traffic, both on the highway and in Albury and surrounding areas," he said.
"We would urge drivers to obviously not drive while they're fatigued, or alcohol or drug impaired, and to take regular rest stops while they're driving.
"We want them to arrive at their destination and travel home safely."
