A board meeting on Thursday night determined the start date of a 13-round competition for senior grades, with the juniors to recommence on July 17.

The home and away season is scheduled to finish on October 3, with a finals format to be determined.

Hockey Albury-Wodonga sport operations manager Cayte Campbell said at this stage all matches will be played in NSW as Hockey Victoria is yet to approve full competition.

"We've got the two synthetic grounds at Albury and the field at Corowa. That will be the way we go," Campbell said.

"Now we've got to get team nominations firmed up and confirm who is still wanting to play, but the signs are positive.

"Most clubs have been keeping in close contact with their members and it looks like they should be able to field basically the same sides they were intending to pre-COVID, which is really good."

Campbell is well aware game days will look very different to previous seasons.

"At this stage there's no clarity around what the competition actually means," she said.

"We still don't know how many spectators we can have or any other requirements that go with it, so we have to wait for notice from the government with that."

Clubs are expected to return to full training in NSW from July 1 after government approval was granted for all community sport to resume earlier this week.
