A 45-year-old Markwood woman has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing death in relation to Saturday's double fatality near the Wangaratta airport.

Investigators were called to Laceby on Saturday about 10am after a two-car collision at Greta Road and Brian Higgins Drive.

Emergency services attended but two people died at the scene, Wodonga's Jamie Drummond and a mechanical engineer, 77, whose identity has not yet been released.
A woman and child were taken to hospital.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives were called to the scene.
Yesterday, Jamie Drummond's son Trevor paid tribute to his father.
"He was just a down to earth honest bloke, who touched a lot of people's lives in the motorsport industry," he said.
The woman is currently being taken before Wangaratta Magistrates' Court.
