Hawthorn Village has reopened to visitors a week after the Health Department advised a resident of the Bright aged-care facility had tested positive for coronavirus.

The department downgraded the facility to "active surveillance", with quarantine or lockdown no longer required.
More than 150 coronavirus tests were completed with all staff, residents or community contacts testing negative.
A department spokesman said the source of the infection remains unknown.
A week after the Health Department advised a resident of Hawthorn Village, Bright, has tested positive for coronavirus, the facility has been downgraded to "active surveillance", with the facility no longer in lockdown.
Alpine Health said no new symptomatic residents, staff or community contacts had been detected.

Alpine Health chief executive Lyndon Seys said residents and staff were no longer subject to lockdown or quarantine.
"Visitors can now enter Hawthorn Village subject to the care facility directives for visitors, such as; only essential family visits over the next 14 days, visits of short duration, maximum 1-2 visitors, visits restricted to residents rooms, social distancing maintained, sanitiser available for visitors, no children, and evidence of a 2020 influenza vaccination," he said.
"We thank residents, staff and community for their patience and adherence to the Department of Health and Human Services directions throughout the last week and we are very grateful to have this positive outcome for our community."
