The association is calling for expressions of interest for a Monday night senior women's competition to commence from August 3.
However, despite the NSW government announcing a return to community sport from July, the association must also follow guidelines set by Netball Victoria.
With COVID-19 restrictions not lifting as planned for Victoria due to a recent spike in cases, that may now be the biggest hurdle in getting the competition up and running.
Albury Netball Association's Leonie Mooney admitted if club netball didn't start this season, the Monday night competition may prove appealing to players from various leagues.

"If there's no other leagues playing I guess potentially if we get a competition up and running we could accept teams," Mooney said.
"By putting an optimistic date out to seek expressions of interest we can then assess the level of interest.
"We've had a lot of inquiries which suggests there's people eager to get back on the court and get some normality back in their lives.
"But we're not over the line yet and being affiliated with Netball Victoria might provide a challenge. "
The association is also waiting to see what a return to community netball may look like in regards to numbers allowed at venues.
An optimistic date of July 25 has also been set for the return of junior netball.
Clubs are still waiting on the fate of seasons.
