After devastating bushfires tore through the region in January, the football and netball season was the shining light for many to reunite as a community.
But that won't be the case either with the decision to abandon the 2020 competition due to COVID-19 made on Thursday night.

Corryong president Owen Johnstone was disappointed with the news, but knows it's beyond everyone's control.
"It's been a tough year for everyone up here, what's another setback," he said.
"I believe we'll still have some practice matches up here and try to get some football and netball into the community at some stage."
Johnstone believes salary cap reductions for future seasons will benefit the league and keep the clubs viable.
The Demons received a netball grant this week and plan to use it to host a clinic and bring people back to the club when health orders permit.
