A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman said emergency services were called to Honour Avenue, near the Mobil service station, at 11.34am.
Corowa Fire and Rescue NSW said the occupants were travelling into the town, noticed a burning smell, pulled over and saw flames coming out of the car.
"By the time we arrived and extinguished the flames, the car was destroyed," the station posted on its Facebook page.
"Luckily the occupants were unhurt, they unhitched the empty horse float so it was undamaged."
The spokesman said police also attended the incident, which was declared completed at 12.36pm.
"Council put signage up to warn of slippery conditions," he said.
In police news, a Cobram teenager was taken into police custody after an attempted carjacking in Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.

Victoria Police said investigators were told three teenage boys approached a man in the car park of a shopping centre on Waterfront Way, Docklands about 1.20pm.
"It is alleged one of the youths produced a knife and demanded the man's car keys to his Ford Territory which he refused to hand over," police said.
The trio fled on foot and uniform police gave chase, arresting one of the youths while the other two jumped into the Yarra River of Newquay Promenade before swimming back to the officers, who arrested them.
A 15-year-old Tarneit boy, a 15-year-old Cobram boy and a 13-year-old Wyndham Vale boy were assisting police with their enquiries.
Meanwhile Mansfield Highway Patrol officers nabbed a driver travelling at more than 80km/h over the speed limit in Merrijig early Sunday morning.
Police clocked a Toyota Camry travelling at 185km/h in a 100 zone on Mt Buller Road about 9.15am.
Officers intercepted the vehicle and immediately impounded the car for 30 days at a cost of $1745.
A 27-year-old Epping man is expected to be charged on summons with exceed speed and other related offences.
