Registrations are open for the 75th Australian Jazz Convention, December 26 to 31, but the impact of restrictions is still unknown.
Executive taskforce president Chris Gildersleeve said the 2020 convention might be different to last year's event, which attracted 525 registrations and sold more than 400 session passes.
"At the core of our values is safety of conventioneers," he said.
"We understand that many conventioneers may fall into what has been identified as a high risk group.

"Therefore, the footprint for the 75th will take this into consideration.
"Should restrictions prevent the 75th AJC going ahead, all registration fees will be refunded."
Held since 1946, the Australian Jazz Convention is thought to be the world's longest-running annual jazz event.
The 2019 convention included eight Albury venues, a street parade, church service and picnic.
