The AFL Riverina board approved the Tigers' radical plan to switch leagues at a meeting on Tuesday night.

After consultation with its clubs the majority were in favour of Osborne joining the Riverina league.

Osborne's application to become an affiliate club member for 2020 is still subject to it providing a list of names for their thirds list.

The Hume league gave its approval for the defending premier to join the Riverina league last week in the wake of its decision to cancel all senior football this season.

Osborne will field seniors, reserves, thirds and senior netball in the Riverina league.

Its under-14s and some junior netball will remain in the Hume league.

Osborne will only have three home games, under a new draw approved by the AFL Riverina board on Tuesday night.

The Riverina League will hold a nine-round season, with a top six finals series to be held over four weeks.

Tigers president Jason Gooden said last week that club members were overwhelmingly in favour of the move.

Osborne remain affiliated with the Hume league to avoid any potential problems in returning for the 2021 season.

The Tigers already have an alternative jumper in place to avoid a clash with Wagga Tigers' playing strip.

Wodonga forward Tom Johnson lodged a clearance to join Osborne on Monday in anticipation of the club switching leagues.

Osborne coach Joel Mackie is believed to have enticed at least one high-profile Albury premiership teammate to join him at Tigerland.
