The Albury-Wodonga Junior Football League now faces another major hurdle with the Victorian-NSW border set to close.

It comes just days after the league announced a season commencement date of July 26.
The junior competition hosts eight clubs with Wodonga Raiders, Wodonga Maroons and Yarrawonga on the southern side of the border, while Albury, North Albury, St Patricks, Lavington and Corowa-Rutherglen are based in NSW.
The border is set to close from midnight Tuesday after a surge in coronavirus cases in Victoria.

AWJFL chairman Stuart Lingham admitted the new restrictions will provide a challenge for the league which usually sees games played on both sides of the border.
He said one alternative may be to have teams play against other teams within their state.
"We might be able to play the Victorian teams against each other and the NSW teams against each other," Lingham said.
"It's disappointing that it's come to this, but by the same token, we have to observe all of the protocols.
"We'll weigh up things before we make our next move.
"We'll have to wait and see."
The league had planned to devise a fixture for the initial first three rounds of the modified season.
