The span's blocking, along with the Towong bridge to the south, has meant the Alpine Way and Jingellic are the nearest entry points to Victoria for NSW Upper Murray residents.
An interactive map has been in development for use on the Service NSW website to show defined border areas subject to cross jurisdiction permits.
NSW cross border commissioner James McTavish flagged the move on Friday and also said Greater Hume Shire was seeking to become part of the affected area.

Meanwhile, NSW Health will move its mobile coronavirus testing hub from Lavington's Mirambeena centre to the KD Watson Hall at the Albury Showground from Saturday.
Those with symptoms are encouraged to visit the site through the Fallon Street entrance from 9am to 4.30pm with no booking necessary.
