Snacks, hand warmers, a thank-you cake, firewood and a fire drum have been given to NSW police officers in the past week as they oversee the border closure with Victoria.

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller thanked community members for the "nothing short of sensational" hospitality demonstrated through gifts delivered to the various checkpoints.
"Some of which are in very remote locations with not much infrastructure around them," he said.
"I would like to send my heartfelt thanks to these wonderful locals who are there for our cops during this time."
Sydney officers deployed at Lake Hume said they were "blown away by the patience, thoughtfulness and generosity of the local Albury and Wodonga communities".
Food and hand warmers were waiting when they arrived on Wednesday and a fire drum and wood was brought down by day two.

"Everyone that came through the site was incredibly friendly and patient considering the inconvenience and delays everyone was having to endure," they wrote in a public letter.
"We wish we could name and thank each of the individuals, families and local businesses that contributed to making our time so enjoyable.
"Because of your generosity our firewood never dwindled, and whenever we needed something, the community delivered.
"We've also heard similar stories coming from our colleagues all along the NSW and Victoria border."
