Although a venue and date have yet to be confirmed, Golf NSW and the State Government have committed to host a NSW Open Qualifier to boost an economy recovering from drought and bushfires, while currently battling COVID-19.
"Golfers love a weekend away and a new course to play," Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional NSW John Barilaro said.
"I'm sure fans will jump at the chance to plan a trip to watch the pros and get a few rounds in.
"The Department of Regional NSW will work with Golf NSW to deliver an event that is both COVIDSafe and provides economic benefits through increased tourism."
Dubbo, Coffs Harbour and Queanbeyan will join the Albury, Tweed and Bega regions in hosting an event, which will attract 80 professionals and 40 amateurs.
A pro-am will be held prior to the main 36-hole tournament.
The top three players, either pros or amateurs, in each major event will qualify for the NSW Open, with a venue and date for that tournament yet to be confirmed.
The six qualifiers will all boast $50,000 in prizemoney.
