A Border man has been bailed on drug trafficking charges after allegedly being caught trying to travel through a NSW police checkpoint with ice.

Desmond Jade Calvert, 39, was taken into custody on Monday night after allegedly trying to throw the hidden drugs away.
He was a passenger in a white Hyundai Excel which crossed into Wodonga Place in South Albury about 10.45pm.
It's alleged Calvert appeared to be high and the car stank of cannabis as police spoke to the occupants.
A police spokesman said officers examined the car.

"Police conducted a search of the vehicle and allegedly located methylamphetamine concealed within a cigarette packet," the spokesman said.
"While police were searching the vehicle, the man allegedly attempted to throw a coffee cup containing methylamphetamine into a nearby bin.
"The Albury man was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug."
Calvert appeared before Albury Local Court on Tuesday after initially being refused bail by police.
He was granted bail and will return to the court on September 1.
He also has other matters in court on July 27.
The 39-year-old was also ordered to self-isolate for 14 days under health pandemic guidelines.
Meanwhile NSW officers are conducting checks on homes to ensure people are complying with restrictions, with 300 visits conducted in a 24 hour period.
Pubs and clubs are also being checked.
