Border Relay For Life will hold an online event through its Facebook page from 7.30am. Posts throughout the day will allow people to connect with past participants and volunteer committee members as well as learn more about this year's activities.
Normally a 24-hour event at a track, the relay raises money for Cancer Council's research and programs, but also allows a community to support those affected by the disease.
Committee chairperson Peter Whitmarsh said planning continued for the event on November 28 and 29 despite the COVID-19 pandemic challenges.
"Our participants are some of the most vulnerable community members," he said.
"We will hold the event in line with state regulations and restrictions, at that time."

"In truth, every second person has or will be impacted by the scourge of cancer, at some time in their life," he said.
Tickets for the relay's car raffle are available online, with prizes for team registrations made during the launch weekend.
