The Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre now has 40 junior teams in its Tuesday night competition, up from 15 last year.
"I didn't realise the impact that it had for the Ovens and Murray and Tallangatta leagues not to run something, so the kids are pumped and we want to keep them as active as we can," head of customer experience Amy Vernon said.
The competition originally catered for under nines, 11, 13 and 15, but the demand has allowed officials to introduce a 17 and under league, as well as an 18 and under division.
The new grades started Tuesday night (July 21), while the four younger age groups started last week.
"We've just had another three teams joining those lower age groups since the competition started," Vernon said.
