It was this, the District Court in Albury heard on Tuesday, that resulted in Rodney Joseph Minogue getting back on methamphetamine.
His newly rediscovered "ice" addiction played a key role in a mini-crime wave embarked upon by Minogue, now 54, across Albury in 2019.

Judge Sean Grant said the brother had inflicted on Minogue the expectation that he too would lead a life of crime.
The younger Minogue had a front-row seat to his brother's ways, including witnessing, as a boy, Craig Minogue dismember a body in the kitchen of their home.
It all caused Rodney Minogue to begin using illicit drugs at 12.
It was stress, however, from the charging of Craig Minogue in May, 2019, with the abduction and rape of two young women in Melbourne in 1986 and 1987 that led to him getting back on drugs.
Craig Minogue is serving life in jail over the bombing on March 27, 1986, that killed police officer Constable Angela Taylor, 21, and injured 22 others.

His brother was acquitted of being an accessory after spending three years in jail.
But on Tuesday, Rodney Minogue was handed an aggregate jail term of three years and six months after previously pleading guilty over the home invasion and several burglaries from 2019, including to specially aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Minogue and Corey Hastings, who previously got a 12-month intensive corrections order, went to the house in Webb Street on June 2 last year as the victim had said he wanted to buy mobile phone accessories from Hastings.
Minogue broke the man's arm with a silver baseball bat after Hastings punched him several times.
Hastings threw a milkshake maker at the head of the woman who lived in the house.
With time already served, Minogue will be eligible for parole on July 30, 2021.
