Hockey Albury-Wodonga officials plan to run a 'come and try' session for all ages at Albury Hockey Centre on Saturday before starting the competition a week later.
Sport operations manager Cayte Campbell said the plan is conduct matches in a hockey eights format.

"We would like some more players, but we've got enough to proceed," she said.
"At this stage I'm not sure how the juniors will be sorted, but there will definitely be two senior divisions, one will be a premier division.
"We hope to have some Spitfires players in the premier division pending their draw."
Saturday's clinic starts at 2pm with hockey sticks provided for new players.
With Victoria back into a stage three lockdown, organised sport cannot run in the state and residents are not permitted to cross the border to participate.
