With the Victorian spring carnival no longer an option Duryea could be forced into an unwanted clash of the talented siblings in the $1.3 million The Kosciuszko.

Front Page is the $4.50-favourite for the lucrative feature while News Girl is also well fancied at $11.

"Ideally I would like to separate them but the way things are going if they have to race (against each other) they have to race," Duryea told Sky Racing.

"They are both in work and 110 per cent in themselves.

"They are exactly where I want them at this stage of their preparation."

Duryea said it had also been a headache to find a suitable lead-up race for News Girl ahead of the October 17 feature.

"Because he (Front Page) is rated lower than her, we have got a couple of different options," he said.

"But options for News Girl are very limited.

"I've spoken to the handicapper and he suggested we run her in weight-for-age races.

"But that's pretty tough going for a mare and she is not a group winner.

"Yes, she has been placed.

"Our main aim is to get them there (to the Kosciuszko)

"I'd love to tell the punters how I'm going to get them there but at the moment I can't because I'm still looking for options.

"They are heading there but I'm just not sure what route I'm going to take to get there.
