Border Relay For Life could be run exclusively online for the first time this year.
The committee has set aside November 28 and 29 for the annual Cancer Council fundraiser, but is yet to confirm the format.
Wodonga's Birallee Park is to host the relay this year, with East Albury's Alexandra Park staging it in 2019.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Chairman Peter Whitmarsh said plans are in place to use the home of Wodonga Raiders, but a virtual event would be considered given Victoria's COVID-19 woes.
"We've got a series of contingencies on how we can get the best outcome for the community," he said.
"We're very mindful we've got to protect the community as well because we're talking about one of the most vulnerable groups that are normally involved in our event."
Teams are being urged to participate with updates provided on the Border Relay For Life Facebook page.
