And Raiders' coach Jarrod Hodgkin says ruckman Muller's blunt assessment of his form earlier this week, when he left North Albury after stepping down as coach last month, shows maturity.
"It was good to hear that, he was pretty honest with himself and with maturity of that level, he's the type of player we want into our footy club," he said.
"He wants to get the best out of himself and he believes he wasn't able to do that the last couple of years."
Muller became the youngest stand-alone coach in O and M history when appointed in late September, 2018, just eight weeks after his 22nd birthday.
He led the club to a surprise three wins last year after an exodus over the off-season, with this year wiped out due to COVID-19.
"I feel like I really need to get back to being super fit, fitness is the key from a performance point of view and that's something that was very challenging as a coach, when combined with work commitments (agronomist)," he said.
"I just want to simplify what I have to do and get back to playing footy with an elite midfield around me."
There's no reason he can't play to the same level as Dawson Simpson.
- Jarrod Hodgkin on Isaac Muller
At 199cms and 104kgs, Muller is likely to the second biggest player in the league, behind fellow man mountain and Myrtleford recruit Dawson Simpson (210cms).
"There's probably no limits (on his ability) given his size, ruck craft and ability to go forward," Hodgkin said.
"If he gets himself super fit, there's no reason he can't play to the same level as Dawson Simpson."

Meanwhile, the son of Western Bulldogs' 300-gamer Rohan Smith won't attract the same outlook.
"Jacob's still young and we don't have expectations on how we want him to perform."
