The RSL has reached out to a Vietnam War veteran who was attacked by two thugs in his home.
A welfare officer from the Albury sub-branch contacted the 72-year-old Albury resident, who was targeted at the weekend.
Two intruders entered his Grafton Street home on Saturday, armed with a tomahawk and hammer, and attacked the man in his bed when he refused to hand over his car keys.
The pair remain on the run.
